The lynchpin of these four titles is the appearance of a glowing brand on the bodies of individuals in each of these titles that signifies the potential for great power. Mysterious god-like beings have granted this power to seemingly random recipients for unknown reasons. The consequences of these gifts and the reactions of the beneficiaries, as well as those who resent this development, is the basis for Crossgen’s unfolding universe.
