Regular vintage, but the 517s of the 90s often have orange tabs, and red tabs are surprisingly rare. The color fading on the orange tab is somewhat cheap in a bad way, so many people are looking for 90s red tab 517s. Also, even for 90s regulars, W34 is becoming less and less common.
The factory number on the back of the button is blurred and difficult to see, but the timing is 90s, so it will have a mottled fade/color loss similar to the 501s of that era. It has a different charm from the vertical fading of the 70s.
In the current American street fashion scene, especially in the last 5-6 years, the trend is to wear oversized flared pants with a long inseam, but these jeans are W34 with an inseam of 77cm, so they will give a wearing feel very close to the current size.
Although they are flared pants, they may feel more like the 517s worn in 90s skate culture rather than the context of the 70s.

The color fading is starting in parts from dark indigo as shown in the images.
The tag is blurred and unreadable, but the patch says "Made in US."

As for damage, there is a tear on the back hem as shown in the images. If you like repairs, you could repair it with a patchwork to give it a Kapital-like feel, but it is just a tear.
