This is a Thames Redware Ceramic Drip Glaze Whale Caddy Made in Japan. The mid-century brown and gold whale was originally designed for the kitchen sink to hold a bar of soap in the mouth and a sponge/dish rag on top. It has a drain hole in the bottom as pictured. It can also be used as a small planter, catch all for change and keys or just a decorative piece. Condition is excellent, with no chips or cracks. The measurements are 7” long x 4” tall x 3” wide.
