Vintage Bells Trading Post Sterling Silver Snake Eye Cross
This impressive vintage cross pendant was crafted by Bells Trading Post, a famous tourist shop active in Albuquerque from 1932 through the 1980s. Based on the hallmark and style, this piece likely dates to the 1950s or 60s, an era when "snake eye" jewelry became highly popular. It features meticulous sterling silver work centered by tiny, round cabochons—often turquoise or coral—resembling the eyes of a serpent. Bells Trading Post was instrumental in making Southwestern jewelry accessible to travelers along Route 66, and their items are now highly collectible pieces of Americana.
