Designer Alfred Werber was in business between 1930-70 . Many of his fashions made it to the Hollywood Scene and I believe, Jackie Kennedy even wore some of his designs.
This beautiful "little black dress" is sleeveless with a collar and back zipper. It is made out of what I've learned is possibly called Guipure lace. Another possibility is that it is a chemical type embroidered lace, where the design was built up with machine embroidery on a dissolvable base fabric and then the base fabric was dissolved.The dress has no fabric labels or a size tag. It is small so be sure and compare the measurements (taken lying flat) with something in your closet that fits you well. Either way, it is stunning!
