TWO Antique Folk Art Dolls

Two antique folk are cloth and paper mache dolls of a an office man and woman. Purchased at an estate sale, the owner first thought they were American Folk art, but then thought they were from Spain, so I’m uncertain of their origin. They are 14” tall and are made of cloth with wire inside, so their legs and arms can bend. Their clothes are made from whatever scrap material was on hand. In this case, cotton and burlap. Their faces have a paper mache type work, although fabric was used i stead of paper to created the wrinkles that come with old age. Both dolls are carrying wood. One of the woman’s shoes, a leather sander, had broken in sleeves, placers. Other than that, they are in good condition for their age!
