I confirmed that it powers on with batteries, but the rollers do not turn when the start button is pressed. Therefore, I am selling this as a junk item. It seems like it can be fixed by replacing the belt, but I am a novice. Please understand that this item has been stored at home.
This is a highly-regarded SONY portable cassette player with excellent sound quality!

The "Pressman" series cassette recorder. It was popular among businessmen because it could record voice memos and could be operated with one hand. The arrangement of buttons such as record, play, fast forward, rewind, cue, review, and pause is very well thought out. It also had a function to play at 1.5x speed. This model became the prototype for the first "Walkman" released a year later.
