This beautiful and rare vintage original 10 1/2 inch diameter porcelain collector's plate is a Holly Hobbie Mother's Day design from 1974 piece by World Wide Arts.
The pattern shows an image of a little girl with a big bonnet in the signature Holly Hobbie style. She is pushing a baby carriage with her baby doll inside. A sweet poem is net to her that says:
"Mother means a sunny smile, An understanding heart, A precious bond of warmth and love, That time can never part."
It is dated "Mother's Day 1974" at the bottom. The rim is trimmed in gold paint (gilt).
The maker's mark on the back is clear and says "Hollie Hobbie Commemorative Edition, Genuine Porcelain, World Wide Arts Inc. MCMLXXVI, Cleveland, Ohio 44144, Made in Japan."
This will be lovely in a Mid Century or Country Cottage Chic decor, or will add to any collection of these Holly Hobbie plates.
This plate is in excellent used condition - I see no marks, crazing, or chipping, and the colors are bright and vibrant.
