This exquisite 27g specimen is a fine example of high grade gold, silver and copper ore. This piece was recovered from the 1866 Ward silver and gold mine in White Pine county Nevada.

The Ward gold and silver mine was known for tremendous gold and silver sulfide introductions in its ore. These are the main sulfides to gold and decompose to gold metal and elemental sulfer, illustrating the nobility of gold!

This ore comes from the Cariln Trend in Nevada which averages very high at 7 g/ton Au and 20 g/ton Au at its highest grade, giving Nevada the "Golden State" title.
