BEAMS Collaboration Kogin-zashi Apple Pattern Pouch

Apples are synonymous with Aomori.
The beautiful patterns of the traditional craft of Tsugaru Kogin-zashi are carefully embroidered with an apple design.
This item was created through a collaboration between BEAMS and the Hirosaki Kogin Research Institute. A special Kusama color, red, was added.

Tsugaru Kogin-zashi
In the Edo period, the farmers of Tsugaru, who were only allowed to wear hemp clothing, began to apply sashiko embroidery with cotton thread to stay warm during the long, harsh winters and to reinforce the hemp. This is how "Tsugaru Kogin-zashi" was born.
