One of the finest pieces by Antonio Borsato (1911-1982), an unsurpassed master of Capo Di Monte porcelain, whose works are displayed in the Vatican, museums, and many significant private collections. This piece is truly unique in it's depiction of lace, as it's hard to believe that this is porcelain! Look closely into the photos, how well the maestro captured the character of this young noblewoman. Her posture, playfulness, hand gestures speak of elegance and wit. It is as though she is captured at the moment of accepting a compliment from her admirer. Confident in her beauty, but pleased and intrigued nevertheless. This piece radiates femininity at it's best!
This is not a perfect unflawed item, it is old, has some color loss and the lace is somewhat brittle.
I do not know how much color loss has occurred as photographs leave the original coloring unclear.
Regardless this is a very nice piece
