Franklin Field in Philadelphia, with Lafayette winning the game 16-10. The Washington & Jefferson Presidents faced the Lafayette Leopards in a highly anticipated game between two undefeated Eastern teams at the time. Location: Franklin Field, located at the University of Pennsylvania, is the oldest continuously-used college football stadium in the nation and was the site of many football "firsts," including the first radio broadcast of a game in 1922 and the first two-tiered stadium upper deck in 1925. An attendance of around 20,000 was expected for this game. Outcome: Lafayette won the game dramatically with a touchdown in the final seconds. This was Washington & Jefferson's only loss of the 1926 season, which ended with a 7-1-1 record. Lafayette finished the season 9-0 and was named a national champion by one selector.
