This vintage pewter tankard features the cap badge of The Royal Green Jackets (RGJ) regiment of the British Army. This is a traditional pewter tankard, often available with an applied regimental badge. The cap badge itself is a Maltese Cross, incorporating the bugle horn insignia of a rifle regiment within a central circle, which is surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves and surmounted by a Queen's (St. Edward's) crown. The word "PENINSULA" is visible on a scroll above the central circle, which is one of the regiment's many battle honours worn on the badge instead of colours. The Royal Green Jackets regiment was formed in 1966 by the amalgamation of several antecedent regiments and continued in service until 2007 when it merged with other units to form The Rifles regiment. Condition is Very Good considering its age
