Vintage RCAF 1950 Pattern 'Modified' Nylon Parka Size 52

Original Royal Canadian Air Force 1950 Pattern Modified Parka Coat.

At the end of the 40's Canadian military began to produce its own range of uniform for its military w/ focus on cold weather clothes. This pattern was one of first to be produced. It can be fitted with a hood using the zip around the neck & also has detachable liner (not included). Front of the jacket fastens w/ a quality Canadian made 'Lightning' zipper which is covered by a button fly. Buttons are large plastic examples which are held in place w/ nylon tapes, a design feature later copied by other NATO countries. Expanding chest & lower pockets are located on the front & there is a pen pocket on upper portion of left sleeve. Reinforcement patches are located on elbows and cuff is barrel style which fastens w/ one button. There is also a rank tab on front & back. The rear is fitted w/ a Warrant Officers rank slide.

Inside jacket there is a drawstring waist.
