The Red Lion 640134 Low Pressure Cut-off Switch is designed to protect your pump from running dry. If the water level in the well runs too low, the pressure will drop, this switch detects a drop in the water pressure and turns the pump off when the pressure falls approximately 10 PSI. Running a pump dry can severely damage a pump, melting the impeller, which prevents the impeller from turning. This can cause the motor to burn out. Protect your investiment!Allow your well time to recover. To reset the pump, prime the pump and hold the lever down manually until the pump kicks in. This switch is equipped with 1/4-inch female NPT threading at the bottom of the unit and attaches easily to the pump or the piping.This switch can be used to control shallow well jet pumps, convertible jet pumps, deep well pumps, and centrifugal pumps.
